Inheritance Law

Inheritance Law is a branch of law that regulates the process of transfer of a person's estate (total assets) to legal or appointed heirs upon his/her death, and is evaluated within the scope of both private law and civil law. Inheritance transactions regarding movable and immovable properties acquired by Turkish citizens and especially foreign nationals in Turkey, as well as transactions regarding the transfer thereof, require the careful application of both national and international legal rules. In this context, we provide guidance to heirs on the inheritance of foreigners' immovable property in Turkey, obtaining the certificate of inheritance, notary and land registry procedures and tax obligations, preparation and opening of wills, inheritance sharing and dissolution of partnership, and disputes between heirs.
